We have learned to be grateful in the park for anything that flowers, even wild onion (Allium triquetrum). A pestiferous weed in many a garden, it makes a lovely little bed of snow alongside the perimeter path on the north side of the park. It is, of course, entirely edible. Both raw and cooked it adds a mild onion or garlic-like flavor to salads or soups. But please don’t harvest it from the park. If you don’t have them in your yard, ask a neighbor.
