Volunteers are invited this coming Saturday morning to continue stewardship in the Native Plant Area, the forested grove on the west slope of the park. Chavez Park Conservancy Volunteer Coordinator Bob Huttar writes:
We will be weeding at Chavez Park this Saturday 3/13. We are making good progress this year and many of the trees and shrubs we worked on earlier are looking great. Among other targets such as Kikuyu Grass we may try tackling some Himalayan Blackberry. The thorns are nasty so if you have thick gloves bring them, and loppers too.
As usual we will meet at 9:00 am in the parking circle at the end of Spinnaker Way.
