The few days of rain we’ve been given over the past week have all but ended the dry brown season of summer. The hills and flats all over the park are greening up. This is still baby grass, just an inch or two high, and not yet visible in some old brown spots. If we get a couple more wet days, the grass will push up to our ankles and then our knees, and the park workers on their mowing machines will have to come lay it down again. That’s how it goes in the park.
