The sun and the fog do a never-ending dance. We watchers in the balcony pay special attention in the minutes when the sun leaves the dance floor for the night. Sometimes the solar orb has the sky to itself. At other times the earthly vapor puts up an impenetrable wall. And then there are those moments when we can see both dancers interacting. Photographer Phil Rowntree caught one of those moments recently, when the sun descended out of a heavy curtain into a hazy gap and displayed itself in all its glory before descending behind the coast range.
