Last week the dilapidated orange plastic construction fence finally disappeared, and various wood and metal fixtures along the east side of the park got a fresh coat of paint. The fence, left behind by the contractors from the rip-rap rehab project of last May, was pretty much in shreds and it uglied up the walkway; good riddance. Credit for the fresh paintwork undoubtedly belongs to Jacob Several, Parks Department Landscape Gardener Supervisor, who has a track record of hands-on intervention to keep the park looking good. Thank you! Park visitors love a park that looks cared for.
