Spot On

A Spotted Sandpiper standing still is an unusual sight. This individual found a barnacle-encrusted perch just above the waters of the North Basin, and managed to stay there for a few minutes, but not without some of its characteristic full-body dipping motions. It’s a restless, hyperactive bird. I’ve seen several of them along the west and south shores of the cove.
