This American Crow, perched on a faded sign in the northern part of the park, clearly has something to say. But the message isn’t clear at all to this human ear, not initiated into birdspeak like Dr. Dolittle.
It’s hard to love crows after seeing what they did to the White-tailed Kite hatchlings this past spring. Still, there’s no denying their intelligence and immense adaptability. I’m not required to love a bird in order to give it sight and sound on this blog. It just needs to be there. And crows are very much a presence in the park aviary.
