Sierra Club Committee Hits Cannabis Events in Park

The East Bay Public Lands Committee of the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club at its July 10 meeting, chaired by Norman La Force, unanimously passed a resolution opposing the use of Cesar Chavez Park for cannabis promotion events. The July 10 Sierra Club committee meeting at the Ecology Center in Berkeley followed a Berkeley City Council committee meeting two days previously at which a proposal to fence the park and charge admission for cannabis promotion and consumption events was introduced and then withdrawn after public opposition.
