Red-Winged Blackbird Defends Nest Against Raiding Crow
The northwest corner of Cesar Chavez Park (Berkeley CA) is Red-Winged Blackbird nesting territory in the spring. The blackbird is smaller but has a wickedly sharp beak and is not afraid to attack the much larger raider. This skirmish ended when the photographer came closer and the crow beat a retreat.
