Rare Loner

Ring-billed Gull (Larus delawarensis)

These gulls are famous (or infamous) for their sociability. They typically hang out in large numbers at places where humans have spread an abundance of food, such as landfills, parking lots around fast food restaurants, picnic areas, beaches, piers and the like. This one has been seen several times around the North Basin recently all by its lonesome. That’s quite atypical. It doesn’t look sick or injured. Does it have an issue with the politics or religion of the ring-billed flock?
