Phoebe on the Rocks

Black Phoebe

This Black Phoebe was active on the rip-rap along the park’s eastern shore, about halfway between the park entrance and the Open Circle viewpoint.  I think it’s a different individual than the one I photographed a week earlier on the blackberry patch further south.  This one looks a bit less slick and buttoned-down.  It remains a very pretty bird, and a useful one as well, snatching insects out of the air.  Here’s a short video: https://youtu.be/KcGB0-iVcxE
