Parasail Practice

Dan from San Francisco and Katherine from Berkeley were out practicing landing and takeoff skills with their parasail rigs on April 20 on the kite lawn.  Dan, who also sails a boat out of the Berkeley Marina, has a parasail certificate.  Katherine is a beginner.  Dan explained that learning how to take off and how to land are important safety skills that need to be practiced well before trying free flights.  Dan demonstrated by taking off from the hill and despite slack wind managed to get airborne for a few seconds, and landed safely.  He said that with the right conditions, parasailers have made trips of 500 kilometers.
