Owl Diary: Thursday 1/31
This morning’s visit to the owls was one of those enviable times without drama or anxiety. The east owl stood as usual in its hideaway in the rip-rap, under its awning and out of sight.

The north owl also posed in its customary spot on a rock at the water’s edge between two fennel stalks, and ignored the admirers who came to photograph it and express their delight at being in its presence.

So peaceful and normal was this scene that as of tomorrow, February 1, I will try a weekly rather than a daily diary format. I’ll still aim to visit and image the owls every day, but I’ll combine the accounts in a weekly blog post rather than post separately each day. We’ll see how that works.
