Heavy fog in the morning. Even an owl probably couldn’t see very far. The east owl stood in its habitual spot safe from notice by most humans. Long zoom showed a bird with eyes half closed, even fully closed. No ground squirrels, no other birds in view nearby.
The north owl wasn’t in its usual spot when I arrived there. A fisherman sat some yards east, and I feared that he had spooked the bird. But no, moments after I set up my gear to image the birdless scene, the star arrived, as if keeping an appointment. The show must go on!
