The Burrowing Owl on the north side of the park has chosen a new spot, just a foot or two from where it perched for weeks, and this spot is surrounded by tall grass in three directions. The bird can only be seen from the dirt road that bisects the nature area. In the video above, the owl appears calm, even sleepy, but remains on high alert with its ears. A moment later, it fluffs up its wings, as if getting its feathers ready for flight. It will leave any day now.
