Owl at Winter Solstice

The Burrowing Owl that artist Linda Morris saw yesterday, and I missed, allowed me to see it today, in the morning of the Winter Solstice. The bird perched just where Linda had said, on the northside rocks by the water’s edge, between fennel stalks, a bit west of the first Barn Owl box that stands about 200 yards west of the fenced area.

Here is a two-minute video. I’ve removed the sound track because of heavy wind noise.

This owl also let itself be seen, to the delight of several visitors, on Saturday afternoon, the day after Solstice.
