Not a Mudpecker
This Black Oystercatcher posed on a rock and ignored the Least Sandpipers busily pecking into the mud beneath it. But the mud on its feet suggests that it was also out on the flats not so long ago. The oystercatcher probably wants bigger fry than the tiny bits of protein that the sandpipers live on.
