More for Me
Acres of mudflats lay exposed in one of the lowest tides of the year — minus 1.7 feet — and this Black Oystercatcher had the area all to itself. The mud must have been sweeter somewhere else on the coast, drawing all the other birds elsewhere. More for me, this talented artisan observed, and went to work with his powerful proboscis extracting bits of marine protein out of reach at higher waters.
