Is It Spring?

It certainly isn’t Spring by the calendar, but these Narcissus (a.k.a. daffodil, jonquil) bloom to a different drummer. They’ve been in bloom since January 21. The one on the southeast shore is a bit of a miracle, having survived the rip-rap construction work in that area; it grows right on the edge of the rocks, but barely. The one on the western ridge has posed for photos here before, including a dramatic image by Phil Rowntree.
