American White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos)

We photographers can’t resist the American White Pelicans. We rarely saw them in past years. That enhances their eye appeal now. Those big snowy featherbodies against the blue or gray of the water, plus those enormous neon bills, add up to a piece of eye candy that never stops giving. Never mind that we’ve already seen more White Pelican pix and videos in the past few months than in the past seven years. We still have an appetite for more. Who knows whether we’ll see them next year? Carpe diem.
