Hawk Tight

Photographer Phil Rowntree saw this Red-tailed Hawk get harassed by a couple of Crows, and walked up to get a photo. The bird not only ignored the Crows, it ignored Phil, who managed to get about as tight a portrait of the bird’s face as you can get without having your finger bit. It’s hard to think of this kind of raptor as a victim, but every time he shows up in the park he gets attacked by the Northern Harrier, the White-tailed Kite, or the Crows. Doesn’t seem to faze him. He’s bigger than they are.
