Common Goldeneye female (front) and male (Bucephala clangula)

The Goldeneyes in the park finally found one another, or at least two of them did. The male(s) arrived first, and the females weeks later. As I watched, this female was busy with her preening chore. Flapping the wings is part of that, and scratching the cheek is a special pleasure.
