Ground Squirrel (Otospermophilus beecheyi) with White-crowned Sparrows (Zonotrichia leucophrys)

Fur and feathers can be mortal enemies, but not here. Squirrels and sparrows forage shoulder-to-wing for seeds and tasty fresh greens, and I’ve never seen a snarl or a peck pass between them. Here at the end of day they’re just hanging out together, chillin’.
