Flare station demolition, day one
The old flare station at the park, running since 1989, is being replaced by a newer model built alongside. The new station is up and running, although installation is not totally complete. Demolition of the old station began this morning, with a crew of four belonging to Innovative Construction Solutions Inc (ICS) detaching and removing whatever men could carry. Tomorrow comes the crane that will remove the heavier stuff, including the landmark rusty leaning tower.
My YouTube video has two parts. The first is a time-lapse video that shows several hours of work in a few frenzied seconds. The second shows video clips of the demolition crew cutting, pulling, carrying, dumping and otherwise laboring to clear the set for the big crane operation tomorrow.
