Today’s midday sunshine with temperatures in the high sixties found a number of birds napping and soaking up the rays.  On the Schoolhouse Creek outfall in the southeast corner of the North Basin this Snowy Egret kept quiet company with three Mallards.  It was preening time for the egret, and occasionally the northerly breeze would blow his hair up, almost like a combover.
