They say it about dogs, and it’s also true about birds. Here a Herring Gull is feeding on the carcass of another bird, probably a Ruddy Duck, judging by the tailfeathers. Birds die, just like humans. They lack ceremony about their dead. The dead become food for the living. It’s nature’s way of recycling. The gull is doing a good thing not only for itself but for the environment.
