Beautiful Killer

This is probably the same juvenile White-tailed Kite I’ve photographed in the same spot twice recently, and this take isn’t as dramatic as the bird flashing its white tail. All the bird does in this video is perch there, balancing in the wind. But it’s ever so pretty to look at. Do we care that it causes the Burrowing Owls to duck for shelter? Do we mind that it tears the head off a vole with one pull of its beak? Maybe, but so much beauty demands forgiveness.
