Bay Festival

For the second year in a row, chavezpark.org had a booth at the Berkeley Bay Festival. The exhibit featured a display of photos of creatures seen at the park, plus little magnetic blocks with the name of the creature. Park visitors of all ages, but mostly young, took the challenge of matching the names to the pictures.

We have some budding naturalists here: kids too young to read and barely tall enough to see over the table. Their parents had to read them the names and lift them up to put the blocks on the pictures. The kids knew their animals and matched the blocks to the photos without hesitation. It was wonderful to see.

Thanks to Phil Rowntree for the photo
