Another Cedar Down
The rainstorms of this past week claimed one of the old cedars planted in the 1980s as a windbreak along Spinnaker Way. A city of Berkeley urban forestry crew was busy on Wednesday afternoon dismembering the tree, chipping its branches, and hauling away chunks of its trunk. The severe storm of December 30 2014 also claimed one of these cedars. That storm came from the frosty north and knocked the tree into the road. The current storm came from the southwest and pushed the tree, which was already leaning, north over the paved pathway.
