Here is a list, hopefully complete, of all the names contained on memorial plaques mounted on benches in Cesar Chavez Park, plus one mounted on a stone.  This list is for the convenience of relatives of the departed and/or people doing genealogical research.  The aim is to post brief biographies and maybe photos of the departed on this website so that people visiting the park can easily pull up information on their cell phones about the names on the benches.  If you are a friend or family member of one of the persons honored, or if you are a researcher, please contact me via the Contact Form.

How to get a bench:  Contact the City of Berkeley Parks & Waterfront Department.  The cost as of 2018 is $3400.  Location by arrangement with the Department.  The price buys bench maintenance for 10 years.  After that, if not renewed, plaque may be removed and bench reassigned.
